translated from Spanish: Movimiento Ciudadano rejects Fox’s irrational and foolish closure, and we bet on responsible dialogue: Luis Manuel Antúnez

Morelia, Michoacán.- Fear of a communiqué it was reported that the Citizen Movement believes that being an opposition does not close the doors to constructive dialogue with the various political forces, starting with realities, and this does not mean being submission or condescending to those in power, remarked Luis Manuel Antúnez Oviedo, National Delegate in Michoacán.
The opposition should not be understood as an irrational and foolish closure that leads to deafness that results in unnecessary confrontational and polarization scenarios that may even be dangerous to society, he remarked in front of the sayings of former President Vicente Fox, that the call is to “give the mother to the Fourth Transformation.”
“As political forces we must conduct ourselves responsibly with society, and not turn differences into a scenario of irrational discredit and lawsuit, but of argumentation, dialogue and the construction of proposals” that serve us, from processes democratic participation, to consolidate citizen participation.
For this reason, remarked Luis Manuel Antúnez, the only front that we endorse and with which we walk is the one that can settle with the citizens and their causes, and not the blocks based on the simple and flat irrational rejection that do not open the doors to dialogue and democrátic discussion about the country’s problems.
“We support our National Coordinator, Clemente Castañeda, in the sense that as political forces we must contribute, from dialogue, but firmly and responsibly, to building a better country, while pointing out the excesses of those who govern”, emphasized the National Delegate of Citizen Movement.
Antúnez Oviedo said that Movimiento Ciudadano is not against the flags promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, because many of them are causes that have always been defended, and that at some point it was matched in the electoral processes of 2006 and 2012, where he was accompanied in his presidential campaigns. Some of these causes have been the revocation of the mandate, the policy of austerity and savings, the culture of citizen participation and thus democratic culture, struggles that the president has now led to; although, in the background, there are discrepancies or differences in the “how” some determinations have been made.
“Our flags are those of the citizens and their causes, transcend actors,” the National Delegate said.
Just because dialogue is committed does not mean that it agrees with everything, so we are convinced that what we need to strengthen is democratic culture in order to find the solutions that citizens demand, he concluded.
