Morelia, Michoacán.- Offenders today were thwarted in their attempt to steal a vehicle with a baby on board in the northern part of Morelia, after being captured and followed with the cameras of the State Police.
A 911 complaint alerted authorities to a violent robbery on Huaniqueo Street in El Realito, where an adult was cleared of their vehicle by strangers.
The offenders immediately escaped in the unit, a green Fiesta Ikon, taking with them a one-year-old and eight-month-old who was on board at the time of the robbery.
The automobile was located through the cameras of the State Center of Command, Communications, Computation, Control, Intelligence Coordination (C5i), and followed on its way through different points of the city.
The Secretary of Public Security of the State reported that, as a result of the implemented device, the child was able to be located without any damage to his physical integrity, near the site where the events occurred.
Subsequently, in Laguna del Pescador street of the Lake 1 colony, the vehicle was located and secured, which was made available to the competent authority.
At 12:20 hours the operation continued to locate and detain those responsible.
