translated from Spanish: Only some models will have a double zero hologram by 2020

Starting in 2020, a new scheme for the granting of verification holograms will be implemented, so if you are thinking of brand new auto, please note that only some models listed by the government of Mexico City will receive the double zero hologram.
Electric and hybrid cars will continue with hologram 00, while vehicles with a combined yield of 16 kilometers per liter (city and road) will be able to opt for this hologram for four years.
Those who yield 13 kilometers per liter will be entitled to the hologram for only two years.

Previously a new car received the double zero hologram when verified, but from January this benefit will be limited to some models, according to the evaluation to its performance by the Ministry of the Environment of Mexico City (Sedema).
According to the head of government, Claudia Sheinbaum, for many years the measures focused on punishing old, unregulated vehicles, which gradually multiply the vehicular park, which has been regulated, for example, in countries in North America and Europe.
Some of the vehicles that will receive the double zero for four years are: the Audi A3 Cabrio 2.0; BMW 220IA Convertible; Chevrolet Aveo 1.5L, Malibu 4 Cylinders 1.5L; Jaguar FPace; Maza 06 2.5 L, among others.
In addition, the brands and sub-brands that will obtain double zero verification, valid for two years, are KIA Aportage 2.4 L; Rover Velar Range 3.0L; Mercedes Amg A 35; Mini Cooper 5 DKG; Nissan Sentra Nismo, among others.
This measure is part of the 14 actions, announced on December 20, that will be implemented by the Megalopolis Environmental Commission to improve air quality in Mexico City and Zona Metrolpolitana.
