Mexico.- A published opinion poll, conducted by pollster Buendía y Laredo from February 20 to 26 among 1,000 Mexican adults, was conducted this Sunday, showing that the representative’s approval rating fell to 62% from 67% in late November. In February 2019, support for the leftist veteran was 85%.
Record levels of violence and economic stagnation are increasingly affecting support for Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.
López Obrador took office in December 2018 and promised to reduce record levels of violence fueled by criminal groups and accelerate economic growth. Instead, there was a slight recession last year and he could not prevent the killings from increasing.
