translated from Spanish: Increases daily cash withdrawal limit at ATMs

Through Communication “A” 6957 of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), the increase in the ATM withdrawal limit was arranged to at least $15,000. The measure takes place within the framework of various decisions being taken in banks due to the economic difficulties caused by their limited functioning as a result of the imposition of social, preventive and compulsory isolation.

The BCRA resolution also modifies and extends another measure issued days ago, which resulted in the suspension until June 30 of charges and fees for ATM transactions across the country. The ad covers all users, whether or not they are customers of the bank where they decide to withdraw the money.
“Financial institutions shall arbitrate the means for all human and legal persons to make extractions for an amount that, at least, reaches the sum of $15,000 – accumulated daily – regardless of their status as customers (or not) of the financial institution that owns the device in which the operation is carried out and the network that manages it” , indicated the BCRA statement.

In recent weeks, banks have raised the cash withdrawal limit that customers can have at ATMs, in some cases to 35 thousand pesos. Specifically, the banks Nation, Patagonia, French, Hipotecario, Itaú, HSBC and ICBC raised the roof to $30,000; The Province Bank and Macro set it at $20,000; Galicia and City, $25,000; Santander, $35,000, with prior authorization for “online banking”. Some of these entities set even higher caps for their “premium” customers. In this note:
