The now former three-division world champion, Ukrainian Vasiliy Lomachenko, who last past lost his unified AMB and OMB world cups to the light weights, to the IVF monarch, Theophymus Lopez, underwent surgery on his right shoulder this week to repair his upper labrum. Some media outlets reported that the surgery was performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles, California.

Apparently, Lomachenko had shoulder discomfort during his preparation, for his fight with Lopez, and was even given an injection, to relieve pain, before the fight. From there you could understand his lack of bluntness and ferocity in the aforementioned stellar combat that was held in Las Vegas, Nevada.
It should be remembered that Lomachenko dislocated his right shoulder, for the first time, in May 2018, when the great Venezuelan champion Jorge Linares, in New York City, was imposed. Bob Arum, president of Top Ranks and promoter of Lomachenko, reported that he did not know that his representative had pains in the upper area. Surgeon Neil ElAtrache hopes the former light-heavyweight monarch can fully recover if he complies with the medical rehabilitation protocol of surgery. Last Saturday, Lomanchenko performed hesitantly in the first half of the bout against Theophymo Lopez, squeezed into the complementary part, was more insistent on the attack, but failed to reverse the score the judges scored. Vasiliy, 32, who was a double gold medalist at the Olympics, came to that contest with the label of best Libra-for-Pound fighter in the world, as Designated by Ring Magazine and suffered his second loss as a professional.
