translated from Spanish: They improve communal units to prepare for next covid-19 vaccination campaign

According to the epidemiological situation, the Cesfam de Vitacura – located in Indiana 1195 – plans improvements in its infrastructure to comply with all the measures provided by the health authority, preparing for an eventual and ever closer vaccination campaign against Covid-19 and Influenza 2021.
“We are making improvements to our practice, preparing for what is coming: vaccination processes against Covid-19 and influenza. In this way we will be able to offer more comfortable and better quality health care to our neighbors, also improving their living conditions,” mayor Raúl Torrealba said.
Work includes the expansion of the vaccine – incorporating the space of the Cesfam pharmacy and the milk delivery room – leaving greater attention span for inoculation.
In addition, the Cesfam pharmacy and outdoor spaces will be enabled to facilitate social estating. The importance of this modification is that the one who goes through remedies, will not have to enter the office. That is why the cesfam pharmacy is moved to the space left by the former communal pharmacy, Vitabotica, which in turn is changed to a house in Av. Padre Hurtado.
A modification of pit windows and care rooms will also be made to improve ventilation by virus prevention, and a redevelopment in the food and milk delivery sector.
“This year, the importance of health and the social role of our work to neighbours was lifted like never before. This is why, together with the shift from Vitabotica to new units, we are doing important work at Cesfam to continue to face the pandemic, but also promotion and prevention. The challenge for 2021 is great and we will take care of meeting the expectations they have of us,” explained María José Domínguez, Director of Health and Education at Vitacura.
The execution period is 50 days and work will be carried out during the summer. This is how the delivery of the units is expected to be the first days of March 2021.
For Luz Pacheco, vice president of the Health and Education Committee of Vitacura, “this has been an extremely complex year, in which needs have arisen in the most different areas, by our neighbors. As a municipality we have worked tirelessly, to respond to those needs and try to get ahead of ourselves. In this case, preparing for the vaccination process, waiting for the Ministry of Health to organize the process.”
