translated from Spanish: IMSS doctor reports influence on COVID vaccine application

Ana Paola De Cosío Farías, an endocrinologist at the 21st Century National Medical Center, reported influence on the application of COVID vaccines within the IMSS Hospital of Pediatrics.
In a video, the health worker said there is unequal treatment with health professionals who have been on the front line of care when caring for patients with coronaviruses, as she accuses that administrative staff or non-direct care for patients are receiving the vaccine.

“It turns out we don’t show up on vaccination lists when there are administrative staff who are receiving the vaccine, arguing that they are in charge of COVID equipment, but they never get into and are never exposed,” he said on his last day’s work on December 31, as he resigned from the position he took since last May to enter IMSS’s 21st Century Hospital with the promise of COVID patient care bonuses.
De Cosío Farías also reported that inside the hospital, managers, and even staff on vacation, have openly arrived at the facility to receive the vaccine.

In addition, she said that after externality she was threatened and that she would be accused of “leaving work”, as she was ordered to enter the COVID area, without enlisting her to receive the vaccine.
“I have decided to resign because of the inequity, the gandallism of the authorities, the lack of vaccination for those of us at the front line and the authorities who have the vaccine and are the ones who send us to be exposed,” he said.
Just this December 30, IMSS Director Zoé Robledo promised that health workers in COVID-19 hospitals will be the first to be vaccinated, and that “arbitrariness or influence” will not be allowed.
Doctors Protest
Following the complaint, nearly 20 workers from the Hospital La Raza, also from IMSS, blocked the Vallejo Causeway, demanding the payment of a year-end bonus and being contemplated to receive the COVID vaccine now.
“Symbolically, we also deliver ice-free boilers with Covid vaccines. A performance with respect, but with TONO DE RECLAMO, in the face of the influence with which they are applying the #VacunaCOVID19”, published Rafael Soto, nurse and spokesman of the National Union of Health Workers of Mexico.

All our support for Dr. Ana Paola De Cosio, who decided to give up the @Tu_IMSS
