The Ministry of Labor of the Nation ordered that the Number of The Single Labor Identification Code (CUIL) is not related to a specific gender, according to Resolution 286 signed by Claudio Moroni, holder of the portfolio. In this way, the social security agencies and the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) will have to adapt their computer systems so that the CUIL numbers do not identify gender in their coding, said the official measure signed by Moroni, according to a statement.

On the other hand, those who have been assigned a CUIL number prior to the entry into force of the measure and who are covered by the Gender Identity Law 26,743 may request a new number of that code for a single time. The National Social Security Administration (Anses) and the AFIP will have to adapt the computer systems so that they are assigned randomly, while both agencies will form a Work Commission to agree on “the mechanisms of articulation and coordination with the public bodies necessary to implement the modifications in the CUIL and in the Single Tax Identification Code (CUIT)”. The objective of the measure is to establish the traceability of the data and the notification to the corresponding bodies and, the Moroni Resolution, will apply 180 days after its publication in the Official Gazette, concluded the press document of the labor portfolio.
The CUIL is an identification number provided by Anses to register retirement contributions, access Family Allowances and carry out procedures in other public entities, banks, automotive registries, among others. At present, the CUIL is automatically generated at the time of registration of a minor with the National Registry of Persons (RENAPER). The procedure for the assignment of CUIL or the modification of a personal data can be carried out by the owner or a third party before any delegation of the social security organization.
