Zaldívar after complaints from the INE about cuts

The president of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN), Arturo Zaldívar, said that the lack of budget cannot be an excuse for not fulfilling its obligations.
This, two days after the General Council of the National Electoral Institute (INE) announced legal actions for the budget cut of 4,913 million pesos for the electoral body in 2022, and that put at risk the realization of the exercise of revocation of mandate.
After receiving an award for innovation in transparency, the minister president of the Court said that in three years of his administration have been achieved are cuts of 6 billion pesos each year and without additional resources, compared to previous efforts.

“When you have a vocation for service, imagination and political will, the budget cannot be an excuse for not doing what you have as an obligation,” said Arturo Zaldívar.
The minister insisted that the Court’s transparency achievements were made “without asking for a single penny more budget” and have been made with “creativity, talent and vocation of service.”

The INE has maintained that the budget cut shows the “total incomprehension” of the Chamber of Deputies to the arguments that the councilors raised and the refusal of the parties that endorsed the cut.
Early Sunday morning, the Chamber of Deputies approved in general and in particular the Budget of Expenditures of the Federation (PEF) 2022, which includes a cut to the BUDGET of the INE of 4 thousand 913 million pesos.
It also considers a total net expenditure of 7.8 trillion pesos, which represents an increase in real terms of 8.6% to the approved budget for 2021.
With 273 votes in favor, 214 against and no abstentions, the opinion was approved after a deferred session that lasted more than 42 hours, without attending to the thousand 994 reservations presented by the opposition legislators.
