Vizzotti’s meeting with the prepaid for the co-payment was postponed

After the announcement of the return of the co-payments, the Ministry of Health called a meeting with the Superintendence of Health, prepaid and providers for today, but then the meeting was postponed to tomorrow. Without specifying the detail of the change, the portfolio led by Carla Vizzotti postponed the meeting to this Tuesday, to be held virtually and with the presence of all the actors involved.

The Argentine Federation of Health Providers (FAPS) announced on Sunday that, as of January 1, health providers will charge a co-payment of 9% of the value of each medical benefit to patients as a result of the critical financial situation of the system. Minister Vizzotti said that upon learning of the announcement of the co-payment, she contacted the superintendent of Health Services to have a meeting and address the issue to evaluate “what is the impact that this has on the population.” Although Vizzotti assured that an authorization from the Ministry is not needed for the collection of 9%, he clarified that he will try to “minimize the impact on the population.” It is not necessary to authorize this, because with the prepaid law they can charge it without an authorization being necessary; what we are trying to do is sit down with all the actors involved in the increase to minimize its impact on the population,” said the head of the portfolio of Salud.Se will be affected by the associates of Cemic, Femedica, Galeno Argentina, Medife, Swiss Medical Group, Medicus SA, Omint SA, Obra Social Luis Pasteur and Osde.
