Joaquin Phoenix is Napoleon Bonaparte in the new film prepared by the emblematic filmmaker Ridley Scott, who comes from a year in which he premiered his films “The Last Duel” and “The Gucci House”, two historical dramas.

In this line, and 22 years after the multi-awarded “Gladiator” -which, by the way, prepares its sequel- the director returns to work with the star actor who comes from winning the Oscar with “Joker”, by Todd Phillips.
It is in this context, that the first images of the film were known, which will follow the story of the French soldier, which in principle was going to be titled as “Kitbag”, although it seems that it will be called like his character in question: “Napoleon”.

In the images, which come from leaks of the filming of the film in the United Kingdom, we can take a first look at the appearance of the actor, who was also premiering this 2021 with the film “C’mon C’mon” (Mike Mills). Seeing him in military uniform could make you fantasize even with the famous phrase “go slowly that I am in a hurry”.

The film will develop Napoleon’s rise to power through the relationship with his wife Josephine de Beauharnais, who in the first instance was going to be played by Jodie Comer (who comes from working with Scott in “The Last Duel”), although due to commitments in his work schedule, the role was left in the hands of Vanessa Kirby (“Fragments of a woman”, “The Crown”).
Rounding out the cast are talents such as Tahar Rahim, Youssef Kerkour, Liam Edwards and Mamie Barry, performances that move to david Scarpa’s script (“All the money in the world”). As for its premiere, it is expected to arrive this 2022 although the date is still unknown.
