The night of the 2022 Oscars had a tense and confusing moment. Will Smith nominated for Best Actor for the film “King Richard”; apparently, he hit comedian Chris Rock live for a joke made in the middle of the ceremony. At one point in his appearance, Chris Rock mentioned a comment about Will Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett-Smith; comparing her hairless head (due to alopecia) with that of the protagonist of the film G.I. Jane.

It was there that the actor got up from his seat and went to where the presenter was putting a pineapple directly in his face, when he returned to his seat he shouted: “Take my wife’s name out of your fucking mouth,” he exclaimed furiously. Apparently this is not the first time that Rock refers to the actress, in 2016, Rock made a joke about the campaign that the actress made against the Oscars, due to the lack of black-skinned nominees. After going to the break, the cameras were able to capture Smith’s publicist, Meredith O. Sullivan, approached her representative to try to calm him down and put cold cloths on the situation.
