Mario Delgado blamed for failure of the Electricity Reform

Mexico City. The political analyst, John Ackerman, pointed to Mario Delgado, leader of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), as the culprit that could not achieve the approval of the Electric Reform, which could not achieve the qualified majority, when it was discussed this Sunday in the Chamber of Deputies. if Morena had not lost more than 50 seats in the last elections of 2021, the Electric Reform, proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, would have been approved without setbacks in the Chamber of Deputies, in which it barely achieved 275 votes, which despite being a majority against the 223 of the opposition, was not enough to reach the qualified majority. Previously, the leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, launched himself against the deputies of the parties opposed to Morena, such as the PRI, PAN, PRD and Movimiento Ciudadano, whom he described as traitors to the homeland, for having opposed the reform that sought to strengthen the CFE and against national and foreign private actors within the national electricity sector. Important figures within the so-called 4T, such as legislator Gerardo Fernández Noroña, pointed out that, with the vote against the electricity reform, the opposition parties were “digging their political grave” and would be helping the Left Movement to maintain the presidency of the republic in 2024.
