Premiere of “Commissioner Ricciadi”, the series based on books by Maurizio de Giovanni

Europe Europe premieres “Commissioner Ricciadi” on Wednesday 11 May at 22.00. The strip follows the story of the most brilliant officer in the police headquarters. It is a series loosely based on the homonymous novels written by Maurizio de Giovanni.Beginning of the 1930s, there lives Luigi Ricciardi, 30, chief commissioner of the mobile brigade inclined to capture murderers, almost obsessing over them. However, he carries with him a dark secret: due to a curse, he is able to see the ghosts of people who have been killed and also perceives his last thought before dying. It is because of this “predisposition”, which his mother also had, that the commissioner is so dedicated to catching criminals, always dealing with very difficult murder cases.

Because of his work and the weight he carries with him, Ricciardi has chosen never to fall in love, but unfortunately no one can voluntarily decide not to love. Despite the belief that the only woman in his life will always be the elderly nanny Rosa, who takes care of him and his house, the inspector unexpectedly ends up falling in love with Enrica, his shy neighbor, who works as a teacher. His heart will end up divided: Ricciardi feels, of course, a strong affection for Enrica, in whom he sees a future and a family, but his soul also shudders at the sensuality of another woman, Livia, to whom he is very attracted. While trying to find out which of the two can make him really happy, Ricciardi must deal with his cases and try to win over his colleagues, intimidated by the aura of mystery emanating from the curatorThe premiere of “Commissioner Ricciardi” in Italy was a great success that touched 6 million viewers. The director of Rai Fiction, Maria Pia Ammirati, announced that a second season will be made, inspired by the next six novels by De Giovanni already published.
