Mobilized WORKERS of ENAP: “The main and urgent thing is to formalize the negotiating table”

Víctor Sepúlveda, president of the National Federation of Subcontracted Workers (Fenatrasub) of the National Oil Company (Enap) referred to the continuity of the strike during this Sunday, noting that “half an hour ago Pamela Sanhueza, manager of people of Enap, who was previously at the meeting where a summary of the petition was delivered, to tell me that the petition was sent to the board, and that there is still no answer.”

The leader of Fenatrasub added that “the main and urgent thing is to formalize the negotiating table (with ENAP), that is the starting point for everyone (…) we are waiting and we will continue to wait.”
When asked about the company’s intentions to accept the petition, he indicated that “personally, and on behalf of the workers, I am hopeful that this is enap’s intention. We believe that it cannot happen this coming week to resolve this mobilization.”
Sepúlveda questioned that ENAP syndicates the workers as responsible for a shortage. “We have been made to look like because of this movement the community has suffered a shortage of fuel. For the 27F earthquake, that plant fell for six months and ENAP did have fuel. We have been on strike for five days and they have tried to hold the workers responsible for a shortage that is not true,” he said.
