González Catán: A 64-year-old retiree was murdered in his home

A 64-year-old retiree was killed and his body was found with his legs tied and with a shirt in his mouth in his home in the Buenos Aires town of González Catán, and investigators believe it was a homicide on the occasion of robbery, judicial and police sources reported today. The discovery occurred last night in a house located at 6600 Toay Street, in that town of the La Matanza party, in the southwest of Greater Buenos Aires, where the victim resided, identified by the Police as Luciano Sinecio Rejalaga (64). Police and judicial spokesmen reported that members of the La Matanza Sur Patrol Command went to the property after being alerted and, upon entering, found the 64-year-old retiree lying on the ground face down, without vital signs. Likewise, Rejalaga was with his legs tied with a shawl and with the cable of an electric slipper, while in his mouth he had a t-shirt knotted. Meanwhile, the agents who inspected the crime scene found a great disorder inside the property, so the main hypothesis of the investigators is that the retiree was the victim of a robbery. For his part, the forensic doctor who reviewed the body found that he had blows to the face and head, and that he could have died asphyxiated, so the preliminary report of the autopsy, which was carried out this afternoon, was awaited to confirm the mechanics of the death. Likewise, the coroner estimated that Rejalaga had probably died on Monday afternoon, so it is also expected that the necropsy will yield accurate data on the death of the victim, judicial sources reported. Experts from the Scientific Police also worked in the place and it was determined that the entrances to the house had not been violated and that the side access door was unlocked. Prosecutor Marcos Borghi, of the Functional Unit of Instruction (UFI) of Homicides of the Judicial Department of La Matanza, intervenes in the case, who supervised the tasks at the scene of the event and ordered the measures of rigor in order to clarify the crime.
