Covid-19: Minsal reports 25 deaths, 7,779 new infections and national positivity of 12.71%

The Ministry of Health reported on 7,779 new cases of Covid-19, with a positivity of 12.71% in the last 24 hours nationwide, after the realization of 56,823 tests, PCR and antigen test.
The health authority pointed out that the variation of new confirmed cases at the national level is 18% and -6% for the comparison of seven and 14 days, respectively. Meanwhile, only one region decreases its cases in the last seven and nine do so in 14 days.
According to sampling, the regions with the highest positivity in the last week are Antofagasta, Coquimbo, O’Higgins and Valparaíso. Meanwhile, the Atacama region has the highest current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by the regions of Arica, Antofagasta and Tarapacá.

According to today’s report, of the total number of new cases of Covid-19, 4,379 correspond to symptomatic people and 1,339 do not present symptoms. In addition, there were 2,061 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
The total number of people who have been diagnosed with the disease in the country reaches 4,241,546. Of that total, 38,940 patients are in the active stage. The recovered cases are 4,137,855.
As for the deaths, according to the information provided by the DEIS, in the last 24 hours there were 25 deaths due to causes associated with the coronavirus. The total number of deaths in the country stands at 59,577.
To date, 167 people are hospitalized in Intensive Care Units, of which 111 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In relation to the Integrated Health Network, there is a total of 278 critical beds available for the patient who requires it, regardless of the region where he or she is.
Regarding the Laboratory Network and diagnostic capacity, yesterday the results of 56,823 PCR tests and antigen tests were reported, reaching to date a total of 42,057,804 analyzed nationwide. The positivity for the last 24 hours at the country level is 12.71% and in the Metropolitan Region it is 11.89%.

With respect to the Health Residences, we have 30 lodging facilities, with 2,174 total beds. The actual occupancy nationwide is 55%, leaving a total of 740 beds available to be used.
