Faculty of Arts U.Chile opens first call to apply to Master’s, Doctorate, Specialization Courses and Diploma programs

Until September 30, 2022, the first call to apply to the study programs of the Graduate School of the Faculty of Arts UChile will be open. Regarding the research and creative nature of the programs, Javier Jaimovich, Director of the Graduate School of the Faculty of Arts U. Chile, points out that “research and creation for contemporary artistic processes cannot be separated. Research and creation must be at the heart of any academic activity of the faculty. From there derive the academic processes, teaching and this virtuous circuit occurs where students participate and learn in practice with teams of academics, carrying out research that sometimes produces works, articles or other dissemination activities. Within that line, the postgraduate is the arrowhead, it is the place where that close link between research and creation has to be happening”.
Integration
Thinking about the challenge of developing the study programs during 2022 and 2023, Javier Jaimovich points out that “there is an architecture that has to promote human activity. That is fundamental. Our spaces speak volumes about our realities. We must think within the Faculty of an architecture that is more human, more in line with the academic project that the Faculty has. In that I hope that we have possibilities of expansion to think about our spaces and integrate into our units. On the other hand, it is fundamental for the times we live, the knowledge of research. More and more the problems of human society, more than deepening, require the lateral look and thus be able to link with others who come from other disciplines. There space plays a fundamental role. That students from different Master’s programs coincide in seminars, that there are shared agendas of extension activities, that they can participate in thesis projects, etc. We have to take advantage of that much more. Joint activities between the programmes will be essential.
