IMSS registers 4% increase in jobs in the last year

In the last 12 months, the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) registered 816,043 new jobs in Mexico, representing an increase of 4%.
According to the institute itself, this annual job creation in August is the fourth highest since it has been recorded.
It also registered 157,432 jobs last month, with a monthly rate of 0.7%, the month of August with the largest increase.

“Job creation from January to August is 616,718 positions, of which 76.2% correspond to permanent jobs,” he explained.
As of August 31, the IMSS reported 21,236,866 jobs, where 86.7% are permanent and 13.3% are temporary.

According to the institute, the average salary of jobs affiliated to the IMSS reached an average amount of 484.3 pesos.
The IMSS pointed out that the economic sectors with the highest annual percentage growth in jobs are transport and communications with 8.6%; construction with 5.3%; and trade with 4.1%.
While Baja California Sur, Tabasco and Quintana Roo stood out with annual increases above 10.5%, according to the institute.
