Budget 2023: the ruling party will seek to approve it in Deputies next week

The Frente de Todos will seek to agree with opposition blocs of the Chamber of Deputies to try to debate in the enclosure the draft Budget 2023 on Wednesday, October 19, a week before the date originally planned, after having concluded this Tuesday the round of consultations with officials of the Power Ejecutivo.La Law of Laws estimates a growth of 2% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for next year, a pattern of inflation of 60% and a reduction of the fiscal deficit from 2.5% in 2022 to 1.9% of GDP.
In this framework, the president of the Budget Committee, Carlos Heller (FDT), provided on Tuesday afternoon details of the schedule that remains to finish the treatment of the project of expenses and resources for 2023 in the framework of the plenary session in which the Minister of Transport, Alexis Guerrera; and the heads of Aerolineas Argentinas, Pablo Ceriani, and Trenes Argentinos, Martin Marinucci.Heller said that the idea of advancing the treatment in the precinct of sessions aims that the “Senate can have more time for its debate.”
For his part, Juan Manuel López, of the Civic Coalition (CC), warned that the ruling party should not count on its bloc to meet “next week” with the Budget.
“In the meeting we had on September 20, we agreed that, at a minimum, we were going to give a month to this process. It is very important that we have the agreed time. Last year it was ruled and that same day 56 articles were added. These new articles had to be analyzed and held in one day. At least one week we intend to have to analyze what is dictated,” López added.

Previously, the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Cecilia Moreau, agreed with the political blocs a budget treatment scheme where they established as a deadline to deal with the budget on October 26 in the precinct of sessions. In this context, the president of the FdT bloc, Germán Martínez, recalled that “in that meeting we talked about the possibility of bringing forward the date if the respective agreements existed.” “We are saying: on Thursday let’s dot and see how far or close we are to an opinion, and if the conditions are given, it will be (the session). If not, it will not be done,” he stressed. In principle, this Thursday the debate of the draft Budget 2023 will resume with the discussion of the hundred articles that make up that initiative -the most important of the year- and there will be analyzed what are the changes that could be introduced to the text sent by the Executive Power.
