Minister Marcel predicts drop in fuel prices “for several weeks in a row”

The Minister of Finance, Mario Marcel, surprised the public by projecting a drop in the price of fuel during the coming weeks.
After attending the Senate for the discussion of the 2023 Budget Law, the head of the fiscal wallet indicated that during the next week there will be a new drop in the value of gasoline, just as the 93 octane (-$ 10.6 per liter) had.

He also said that, if international prices and current changes are maintained, there should be “reductions in fuel prices for several weeks.”
Marcel’s projections maintain that, for next week, the domestic price of diesel should have a drop after 65 weeks on the rise.
In going into detail, the Secretary of State said that this decrease responds to global factors rather than public policies. “It will allow many of the concerns and anxiety that Chileans have had about fuel hikes to be appeased,” he concluded.

Recall that Enap announced a new variation in fuel prices as of this Thursday, November 24: 93-octane benzine fell 10.6 pesos per liter, while 97 octane suffered a rise of 0.6 pesos per liter. For its part, diesel increased by $ 1.6 per liter and liquefied vehicular gas (LPG), rose $ 10.6 per liter.
