Congress appoints Sergio Salomón as substitute governor of Puebla

The local Congress named Sergio Salomón Céspedes Peregrina as the new substitute governor of Puebla after the death of Miguel Barbosa on December 13.
Through a statement, the Government of Puebla explained that the session took place during the early hours of this Thursday and before the president of the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ), Margarita Gayosso Ponce and the president of the Council of the Judiciary, Carlos Palafox Galeana.
Likewise, Congress approved with 34 votes in favor, five against and zero abstentions, the request for indefinite leave longer than 30 days of Salomón Céspedes.

Message from the new president
Céspedes Peregrina, local deputy of Morena, said that, hand in hand with the Legislative and Judicial powers, he will work to guarantee the political and social stability of the state.

“To the poblanas and poblanos I say that I assume this commitment with the firm conviction of always working close to the people, in consensus with the various political and social expressions, to guarantee governability and promote development,” wrote the new substitute governor of Puebla in his social networks.
In addition, he added that “today more than ever, Puebla needs us united, to continue advancing along the path of transformation, for a state that embraces everyone equally, in each of our municipalities and our regions.”
Salomón said that he will walk on the route proposed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for the transformation of the country.

On December 13, Miguel Barbosa died. President López Obrador confirmed the death of the president through his Twitter account.
