Mexico. – Carlos Santana is in the middle of a scandal, after during one of his concerts he gave a speech that was seen as transphobic.
A video of the concert that the musician offered last July in Atlantic City circulates in networks, where he took a few minutes to share with the public some of his thoughts on different topics, among which he highlighted his opinion on the trans community: “When God created you and me, before we came out of the womb, You know who you are and what you are. Later on, when you come out of it, you see things and you start to believe that you could be something that sounds good, but you know it’s not right,” he said.

Santana asked those who feel identified with the community to stay in the closet: “Because a woman is a woman and a man is a man, that’s all. Whatever you want to do in the closet is your business. I’m fine with it.”

Due to the criticism, the musician decided to apologize, even ensuring that his words were insensitive and did not reflect his ideals: “I regret, my insensitive comments. They do not reflect that I want to honor and respect the ideals and beliefs of all people. I realize what I said hurt.” People and that was not my intention. I sincerely apologize to the transgender community and everyone I offended,” he said in a statement released by TMZ.
