Giuliano: “Milei voters should know the economic impact of eliminating subsidies”

The Minister of Transport, Diego Giuliano, warned that in a hypothetical presidency of Javier Milei “the fares are going to increase buses, trains, fuel, electricity and water”. In addition, he said that potential voters of presidential candidate Javier Milei should know the “economic impact” that the elimination of subsidies for the payment of public services will have on their pockets. “Those who are going to vote are going to decide about their transportation, about their family, and in the case of this the economic impact it has. That is why it is very important that the economic impact is known. 700 pesos is not the same as Milei proposes in transportation, than the fare that each city and the AMBA have,” said the minister.
“What Milei is proposing in relation to transportation also comes with the issue of electric light and fuel, which without subsidy would reach $800 per liter.” For Giuliano, “SUBE is a program that is expanding throughout the country. We are moving forward with this same program in Córdoba and in six localities of that province, extending the social attribute that during the previous government remained in the City of Buenos Aires and in the (conurbation) area of Buenos Aires.” A few weeks before the runoff, the minister said: “Sergio Massa is the author of ensuring that the distribution of the subsidy goes directly to the user and does not remain at the business level. It allows for fewer intermediaries like with electricity and college. The university costs $3 million annually. If there is no subsidy, there is no contribution from the state,” Giuliano added.
