Morelia, Michoacán.- The new hospital of the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) in Uruapan will have a capacity to serve 90,000 affiliates, which means an increase of 20,000 in relation to the number of workers incorporated in the region.
Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla reported that with this expansion of services, agricultural workers and workers in the export industry will be able to access social security.
He commented that the current registration of affiliation in the Uruapan region is 70,000 workers, and the estimate is that around 18,000 avocado cutters and packers hired per year can join the Institute with the collaboration of the business sector.
“The new IMSS hospital is to the need of Uruapan because in addition to 80 percent of the medical specialties in the region, and with the support of the Government of Michoacán, the conditions of accessibility for users will be given,” he said.
In Uruapan, more than 10 billion pesos will be invested in road and road mobility works to strengthen the infrastructure and productive development of the municipality.
