With the arrival of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, Argentines look forward to the traditional family gatherings and outdoor celebrations that characterize this time of year. However, the weather forecast from the National Weather Service (SMN) could influence the plans of many citizens. The SMN issued a yellow level alert for Sunday, covering large areas of the province of Buenos Aires, La Pampa, Río Negro, Santa Fe, Córdoba, Mendoza and San Luis. The arrival of a cold front accompanied by rain, thunderstorms, strong gusts of wind and possibly hail is expected in several regions, with accumulations of precipitation between 30 and 60 mm.In view of this alert, the population is advised to take precautions such as removing objects that may obstruct the passage of water, avoiding outdoor activities and being aware of possible hail or tree falls. In addition, it is recommended to have an emergency backpack ready with basic items. In the AMBA, the forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day includes temperatures that will vary between 19 and 29 degrees, with possible rains increasing in intensity during Christmas Eve and Christmas morning, and winds that will change their direction from east to south. For the following days, the SMN did not issue rain or storm warnings, forecasting sunny days with warm temperatures ranging between 13 and 26 degrees. Christmas plans could be affected by these weather forecasts, urging citizens to keep an eye on updates from the NMS and consider alternatives to celebrate indoors if rain and storms persist during the festivities.
