13 police officers arrested for the murder of a young man who escaped in a stolen van

Thirteen police officers have been arrested and investigated for their alleged involvement in tampering with the scene of an incident in which an officer shot dead a young man driving a stolen vehicle in Isidro Casanova, Buenos Aires province. among other irregularities related to the event that took place in the neighborhood of San Alberto. The situation was triggered during a chase that crossed the towns of San Justo, Ciudad Evita and Isidro Casanova, in the district of La Matanza.Lucas Acosta, 21, was killed by a gunshot to the chest during the police operation. Neighbors captured at least one video showing officers apparently tampering with the scene of the incident. In the last few hours, the detainees have refused to give statements before prosecutor Carlos Arribas of the Judicial Department of La Matanza, in charge of the case, according to police sources. Among those arrested is Sergeant Federico Schianini, responsible for the fatal shot against Acosta, who, in addition, in a video that has become public, seems to express regret for what happened, while several of his colleagues, wearing gloves, manipulate the body of the deceased and the truck in which he was traveling. Other male detainees include Inspector Albino Martinez, head of the Central Patrol Command; First Lieutenant Lucas Pereyra; Sgt. Brian Martinez and Sgt. Brian Buera; and officers Alexander Suárez, Lázaro Samuel Ledesma and José Sequeira. For their part, the women under suspicion are sergeants Rocío González, Nuria Ottone, Cecilia Carballo, Verónica Fernández and Débora Reales.
