Michoacán Primero demands that Governor act on extortion crisis in Uruapan – MonitorExpresso.com

Morelia, Michoacán.- “To Governor Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla we demand… that if he has already finished organizing concerts… now attend to the priorities of the people of Michoacán: act against extortion in Uruapan and request the intervention of the Federal Government in the face of this unfortunate crisis,” demanded the Leader of Michoacán First, Antonio Plaza Urbina.
This call is due to a series of violent acts in Uruapan, after which the testimony of a local inhabitant was disseminated, who complained about the lack of response from the authorities while showing a lot with 20 vehicles that were set on fire because he allegedly refused to pay a “fee” of one million pesos to organized crime.
In this sense, Plaza Urbina reiterated that: “Providing security to the people of Michoacán is the responsibility of the Governor. Even if he is distracted by concerts and “moons”, it is still his responsibility. It must act immediately in the case of Uruapan, and even use its power and position to ask for the intervention of the Federation.”
It is worth remembering that this is not an isolated case, but that the extortion of working people is becoming a hallmark of the Bedolla government, since the most visible crises began with the lemon trees of Tierra Caliente, then the tortillerías of Uruapan, and now it is the entrepreneurs of car lots in this city who are affected. in a series that will continue as long as the Governor does not assume his responsibility.
In addition, the leader of Michoacán Primero added that violence is unfortunately widespread in our state, as it affects the working class from the aforementioned cases to the recent cases of two political figures from different parties, one of whom was murdered and the other dispossessed of his vehicle in Michoacan lands.
To conclude, “Toño” Plaza stressed that our state also urgently needs a true and better opposition, because the parties opposed to power must demand and demand him when the Governor fails the population; which is and will be an objective for Michoacán Primero in 2024 so that politics is once again useful to citizens.
