Ziracuaretiro, Mich.- Four people were seriously injured and considerable material damage was the result of a spectacular crash in which a torton type truck apparently without brakes, hit two vehicles, which caused the units to overturn, on the Siglo XXI highway. Among the injured is a pregnant woman and the father of Guillermo Valencia Reyes, state leader of the Institutional Revolutionary Party.
According to the first reports, a white torton truck already out of control collided with a gray truck and a red truck, which overturned spectacularly, this at kilometer 91, near the turnoff to San Ángel Zurumucapio, on the Uruapan – Pátzcuaro highway section.
Personnel from Uruapan Rescue Firefighters and Municipal Civil Protection of Ziracuaretiro went to the scene to help 4 people who were injured; three were taken to a hospital in Uruapan and another was transferred in a State Government helicopter to a hospital in the capital.
The road was closed to traffic so that the corresponding expert reports could be carried out and later, with the support of cranes, the damaged vehicles were removed, which were placed at the disposal of the authorities while responsibilities are determined.
