The Undersecretary of Labor resigned, in the midst of massive layoffs in the State

In the midst of the massive layoffs in the State, ordered by the Government of Javier Milei, the Undersecretary of Labor, Mariana Hortal Sueldo, resigned. The Ministry of Human Capital, led by Sandra Pettovello, confirmed that the resignation was due to a “personal decision” made by the former official. They also emphasized that Hortal Sueldo responded to the former Secretary of Labor, Omar Yasín, who was fired by Milei himself at the beginning of March as a result of the controversy generated by the increase in salaries of the authorities of the national executive. The resignation of the leader joins that of several officials who were expelled from the Ministry of Human Capital in recent weeks. Hortal Sueldo was appointed as undersecretary on February 15, to be the second in the Omar Yasín area. Horacio Pitrau was removed from that position, and was accused of trying to negotiate with the unions. After the expulsion of Yasín and the arrival of Cordero to the Secretary of Labor, Hortal Sueldo, of close ties to the former Minister of Labor of Mauricio Macri, Jorge Triaca, remained in his position until this Wednesday when his resignation was known. Hortal Sueldo had already had a precedent in the public service, since during the Macrism he went through the ANSES, an entity led by Emilio Basavilbaso. Hortal Sueldo’s resignation comes at a time when the unions’ conflict with the national government is deepening due to the massive layoffs they ordered in different agencies of the Estado.La The Ministry of Labor was on Wednesday the central headquarters of the claim of the workers grouped in ATE, who announced a new national strike for next Friday within the framework of a plan to fight against the layoffs.
