Independiente was officially inhibited due to the debt with Fernando Gaibor

FIFA notified that Independiente was officially inhibited due to the debt it has with Ecuadorian midfielder Fernando Gaibor and will not be able to incorporate players in the next transfer market. At the end of January, FIFA’s Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld the ruling in Gaibor’s favor and ordered Independiente to pay $2,379,000 plus 5% annual interest. From that notification, the Avellaneda club had a total of 45 days ahead of them to settle the debt. However, in that period he did not manage to raise that money and, in the last hours, the institution was officially inhibited. It should be noted that this is not the only drawback for Independiente. In the coming days the same thing will happen again with the case of Gastón Silva, for whom they must disburse 2,276,000 dollars and that of Mazatlán de México for 95,000 dollars for the loan of goalkeeper Sebastián Sosa. with whom there are talks, the payment of the other half. Another option that the board is considering is to sell players from the current squad and the main candidates, both by age and current level, are Ayrton Costa and Lucas Gonzalez.In addition, they could take advantage of the good relationship with Grupo Pachuca to make use of the purchase option they have for 30% of the token – valued at 500,000 dollars – of Sergio Barreto or that Everton, team that also belongs to the same group, raised a purchase offer for Braian Martinez.
