translated from Spanish: EZLN gives the yes in popular consultation; deliver your result to victims

The Zapatista Army of National Liberation (EZLN) reported that, as of 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, twelve Zapatista snails and their respective Good Government Boards have received the minutes of 756 towns, communities, places, and rancherias that demonstrated in community assemblies to participate in the popular consultation, and decided to vote “yes.”

According to the EZLN, “the 756 communities of natives spoke out in response to the question of whether or not they agree that the necessary action should be taken to support the implementation of the rights of the victims and their families to truth and justice.”
These acts, he explained, “are those of Zapatistas, the National Indigenous Council (CNI), and partisans who demonstrated in community assemblies and who are untimely, that is, they do not exist legally.”
“To our surprise, some communities where they are partisan and there is no Zapatista, made and are doing their assemblies, and sent and are sending their results to the Good Government Boards,” he announced.

The EZLN accused omissions on the part of the National Electoral Institute (INE) and other institutions that did not translate the question into all languages, and that did not explain the question to the residents, so it said, these faults are being “corrected by the extemporaneous, who took part in translating into their native languages and in explaining the importance of the consultation.”
“It wasn’t just nobody from the INE who showed up to explain. Nor did anyone from the ruling party — who is supposed to be interested in the consultation because his foreman indicated — deign to even try to go to some community,” he said in a statement.
Another of the irregularities pointed out by the Zapatistas was that “the ruling party is lying because it tells them to just go and say yes, because that is to prosecute the former presidents, instead of explaining to the people.”

They announced that as soon as they have “the full results, we will reach out to those who are fighting for truth and justice for the victims and their families.”
“With this action we inform you now, the Zapatista peoples begin this July 31 their participation in the National Campaign for Truth and Justice,” they detailed.
