Covid-19 balance: Minsal reports 18,995 new cases and deaths exceed 240 in the last 24 hours

The Ministry of Health made a new assessment of the Covid-19 situation in the country, where 18,995 new cases were reported, of which 11,351 correspond to symptomatic people and 2,847 did not present symptoms. In addition, there were 3,886 positive PCR tests that were not reported.
In this way, the total number of people diagnosed with Covid-19 reached 3,249,890 and recovered patients reached 3,127,206 since the arrival of the coronavirus in Chile.
On the other hand, the death of 244 people in the last 24 hours was detailed, thus reaching 43,527 since the beginning of the pandemic, while positivity reached 17.81% nationwide.
As for the active cases, these reached 71,113 people and pcr tests amounted to 95,850 in the last 24 hours, thus reaching the total amount of 33,817,368.
Meanwhile, there are 1,011 people hospitalized for Covid-19 in Intensive Care Units. Of these, 827 are supported by mechanical ventilation. In the same vein, the hospital capacity has 2,533 critical beds enabled and 235 critical beds available.
Positivity in the Metropolitan Region reached 14.21%, while the regions with the highest increase in new confirmed cases in the last seven days are Ñuble, O’Higgins, La Araucanía and Biobío.
