Jim Carrey and Adam Sandler came out to back Chris Rock

The night of the 2022 Oscar Awards was totally overshadowed by the violent cross between Chris Rock and Will Smith, no one remembers who the winners were or which film took the coveted statuette and we can only talk about what happened between both actors who starred in a tense moment.

After opinions were divided between those who believe that what Will Smith did was an act of love towards his wife and those who feel that violence is not justified on any occasion. From Hollywood they also laid their foundations and put themselves on one side or the other. One of those who quickly came out to support Chris Rock, was Adam Sandler, who yesterday was trending in the networks after posting a message in solidarity with his colleague, and friend.
Without making direct mention of the scandal Sandler limited himself to advertising the new tour that Rock will perform, Ego Death, as part of his world tour and about it he wrote: “I can’t wait for this to come. I love you friend!” he said. Another of those who spoke out against Will Smith’s attitude was Jim Carrey, who during an interview conducted by the CBS program This Morning told how he felt to see what happened at the ceremony: “I was disgusted by the standing ovation to Will Smith. I felt this is a very clear indication that in Hollywood we are no longer the fashion club,” he said.
“Will has something inside him that frustrates him”

He added that Smith should have been arrested but, as host Gayle King pointed out, Chris Rock refused to press charges. He didn’t want trouble,” Carrey said of Rock’s attitude. “I would have announced this morning that I was suing Will for $200 million because that video will be there forever, it will be ubiquitous. That insult is going to last a long time. If you want to scream from the audience and show disapproval or say something on Twitter, you don’t have the right to go on stage and hit someone in the face because they said words.” When the interviewer suggested that the incident “escalated,” Carrey interrupted her by saying, “It didn’t escalate, it came out of nowhere because Will has something inside of him that frustrates him.” And finally he summarized: “I wish him the best, I really want it,” he continued. “I have nothing against Will Smith. He’s done great things. But that wasn’t a good time. He threw a cloak over everyone’s bright moment. A lot of people worked very hard to get to that place. And having your moment, getting your award for the really hard work they did, it’s no small thing to go through all the things you have to go through when you’re nominated for an Oscar. It was such a selfish moment that it overshadowed the whole thing.”
