A US parliament approved the ban on Tik Tok

Last Friday, US lawmakers approved a bill to ban Tik Tok from operating in the state of Montana and, according to Reuters, the House of Representatives voted on the measure with 54 votes in favor and 43 against. The intention of carrying out this regulation has to do with the fact that from the United States the Chinese technology company ByteDance, which owns the application, is accused of having links with the Chinese government and sharing data of the American population. Although it is unknown how the reform would be implemented, both Google and Apple, which run mobile app stores, would face heavy fines if they violate it. Meanwhile, from the app, it was reported that “we will continue to fight for Tik Tok users and creators in Montana, whose livelihoods and First Amendment rights are threatened by this egregious government overreach.” Likewise, it is not yet completely official because it remains the signature of the governor of Montana, Greg Gianforte, who through a statement released by his spokesman, explained that “he will carefully study any bill that the legislative assembly sends him.”
