State Health Secretary Daniel Alberto Díaz Martínez reported the first coVID-19 death in Guanajuato, where the number of confirmed cases increased to 58.
In a videotaped message, the official detailed that they were notified by the Pemex Regional Hospital in Salamanca of the deaths of two men with breathing problems, one of them due to the coronavirus and on the other are awaiting the results.
He added that these two people, one 64 and one 68 years old, had returned from a trip to the state of Chiapas.
“These people who unfortunately died recently made a trip with a group of people between March 16 and 24, so we are investigating whether it was on this trip that they may have been infected. In addition to them there are three more people who made the trip and are hospitalized,” she said.
Chihuahua
The State Government Health Secretariat reported that two people infected with coronaviruses lost their lives while in hospitals in Ciudad Juarez.
The deputy director of Epidemiology, Gumaro Barrios, noted at a press conference that the victims were male patients aged 45 and 49; one of them had diabetes problems.
It was explained that the first of the death occurred on Saturday and the second on Sunday, but it was until Monday, after the corresponding formalities were carried out, that both cases were confirmed.
Previously, it was announced that confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the state reached 20, there are 31 suspects and 81 have been negative in laboratory tests.
In addition, there are two cases recovered: a 47-year-old man in the state capital and a 21-year-old in Ciudad Juarez.
